So I was in Central Market this weekend with Sarah, which is always a treat, and I stumbled upon another great coffee treasure. The name of the Coffee is Flores Bajawa which comes from Flores a smaller island off the Indonesian coast in between Java and Papa New Guinea. I decided to look into the small Island and see where this sweet netuar was coming from. As I dug deeper I found this Island has alot of interesting things going on. For instance it is the home to the discovery of a three-foot tall Homo Erectus skeletons and miniaturized elephant fossils dating back about 15,000 years. Flores is also home to gigantic rats, Komodo dragons, and saltwater crocodiles. The Coffee itself is earthy with a mild floral and citrus taste with notes of a plum. I am also told it has a slight Indonesian wood and molasses taste.
Go to Central Market to get a half pound Flores Bajawa
